CFO Enterprise Research Services Group surveyed how CFO's viewed their surplus asset programs by surveying 243 senior finance executives at US companies with more the $55 million in annual sales. The results:
- More than 80% were dissatisfied with their company's abaility to generate income via disposal of surplus assets
- 80% were dissatisfied with the company's ability to track asset utilization
- 77% of financial executives were dissatisfied with the their company's ability to redeploy assets internally
- 70% say fixed asset management at their companies is inefficient
- More than 60% are dissatisfied with their company's capabilities to procure assets proficiently
- 50% say they have to write off assets because they simply cannot locate the equipment
- 30% were unable to estimate the size of their idle or surplus assets, avoiding redundant purchases through asset redeployment.
